All the race tracks!

Mushroom Cup

Luigi Raceway

Luigi Raceway is probably one of the easiest courses in the game. The easy corners make it perfect for beginners to practice therir sliding and cornering.

MooMoo Farm

MooMoo Farm is probably another of the easiest courses in the game. It's short distance of only 517-m makes it the shortest race in the game. It's corners are huge and give you plenty of turning room. My only warning is, watch out for that rotten Montey mole. They can pop up when you least expect it.

Koopa Troopa Beach

This is where the hard courses begin. This beach will have fairly sharp turns and is surrounded by water everywhere. If you go to far into the water you will wipe out. And if it wasn't bad enough there are crabs scattered all over the beach. Don't touch them or you'll spin out. Although there are two shortcuts in this race but I won't tell you where they are.

Kalimari Desert

Kalimari desert is a pretty cool course. With fairly tight turns it's a course for people who have got the hang of the controls of your racer. This is also a good place to have a really close race because this is a course with very open roads and red shells can seek targets who are very far away. Adding to the frenzey are the railroad tracks which carry the train. Every now and then the train will cross the open section that you have to cross. Heaven help you if you don't get out of the way.

Flower Cup

Toad's Turnpike

Toad's Turnpike can be one of the hardest levels in the game. The fairly tight turns aren't the reason though. Most race tracks wouldn't take place on a freeway but it just so happens that this track does. Through the whole race you be dodging traffic which includes family cars, school buses, oil tankers, semis and wood haulers. (the family cars are the most annoying.)

Frappe Snowland

This is the first snowland in the game. It's not easy either. When you're going through turns don't go to tight, because there are little snowman land mines everywhere. And if that isn't enough there is an open area with (don't ask me why) a huge ice sculputure of Yoshi. And surrounding it everywhere there are snowman land mines. Followed by a race through an icy canyon. I wouldn't recommend this course for beginers because of it's icy conditions.

Choco Mountain

Choco Mountain is a fairly hard course because the roads and turns are very thin and tight. And there is a drop that will send you half way back down the course. And there is an avalanche of chocolate rocks that will squash you like a bug. and just at the end the race there will be a row of five or six jumps which will take you a lot of precious time to restart from if you wipe out.

Mario Raceway

Mario Raceway is the designer's favourite course. Infact if you push the right shoulder pad button at the main screen it will show you the best time in time trial for Mario Raceway. This course will challenge your sliding abilities with it's tight turns and narrow roads.

Star Cup

Wario Stadium

This is one of my favourite courses. It may be a Go-Kart course but it looks more like a dirt-bike course. The constant jumps make it as my brother's friend would say "incredible fun!" It is one of the longer courses in the game which is good. And the big jump at the end is awesome as well. A good strategy in vs. mode for Wario Stadium is, if you get a lightening bolt, hold onto it. Then just before your opponent goes of the jump use the lightening bolt on him and he will careen over the edge putting you in front by a wide margin. The turns aren't tight or narrow so idealy anyone should be able to do fairly well on it.

Sherbet Land

This is one of the worst courses in the game for beginners for to start on. It is very slippery and around almost every turn there are the baby or adult penguins honking and sliding around. Hitting them will cause you to spin out and lose precious time. And all around the outside there is freezing water. If you fall in you'll freeze into an ice cube. In the tunnel be especially careful to follow the signs or it will take you forever to get out. The reaon for that is the cave is full of huge penguins. To make matters worse most of the turns are sharp and narrow so be careful.

Royal Raceway

Cool sums up this track. This is another one of the long courses in the game. The best part is when you just go of the huge jump. Though I wouldn't recomend this course for beginners. There are several tight turns and narrow turns. One annoying part is that there are no edges around the lake. It is very easy to fall in. Another cool feature is right after the big jump if you turn right you can see the Princess' castle!

Bowser's Castle

Bowser's castle is another tough but fun track. The most annoying part is the thwomp's that are everywhere in the castle. They can either squash you flat as a pancake or they can move in front of you and make you spin out. The turns are very, very sharp though. And there is a suspenseful moment as you drive your kart across a rickety bridge with no rails across a pool of molten lava! Yikes. Have some fun in here with versus though. It will take a while if you're not careful.

Special Cup

D.K's Jungle Parkway

This is my personal favourite course in the game. The graphics are awesome as you speed past the jungle scenery. There is a cool point where you make a dramatic jump across the lake in your kart. If you look you'll see a tour boat going down the lake. While driving through the enclosed jungle be careful not to go off the road because then the "restless natives" will hurl stones at you. It is a fairly easy course for beginners as long as they are careful.

Yoshi Valley

Yoshi Vallley is a complete maze of twists and turns. If you are playing in G.P mode it is impossible to locate what all the ranks are because there are about ten different routes you can take. It is a really cool course though because anyhting can happen and it is always a challenge to find the easiest route. There is also a shortcut but I'm not going to tell you where it is. Near the end you should have your driving skills set because you'll have to avoid a huge spinning Yoshi egg. You can take it out with a star though.

Banshee Boardwalk

This is a easy course to do if you know how to do it. The whole race takes place over a rickety boardwalk haunted by Boo's. They can hurt you but they look cool. This course has for the most part fairly sharp turns. And at other points there are no guard rails so it is quite easy for you to plummet into the murky waters. Another hazard is the bats that collide with you and make you spin out when you reach the building.

Rainbow Road

There is only one word to describe this course. LONG. It runs for a whopping 2000m. The graphics for the roads are awesome and the roads are pretty much transparent. The drop at the start is cool too. On the track beware of the "dog" chomps. I use that term because they make barking noises as you drive by them. If you watch you'll see neon lightings of all the characters in the game.

The Battle Arenas

All the racers!

Bowser

Bowser is one of the three heavey weight racers in Mariokart. He can really throw his weight around. As a heavey weight he is both blessed and cursed in Battle mode and the G.P's. In battle mode he has bad turning capabilities and dodging manuevers but being a heavy weight if he collides head on someone the other racer will lose a precious ballon. In G.P he has poor acceleration and cornering but when he reaches top speed he can really burn rubber. On a scale of one too ten I give him a six.

Donkey Kong

Donkey Kong is pretty much the same as Bowser. He is another one of the three heavy weights. Being pretty much the same as Bowser there isn't much to say about him accept that his accelaration and handling may be a bit better than Bowser's. On the same, yes, the exact same scale as Bowser I give the big D.K a fairly big 6.5.

Luigi

Luigi is one of two medium weights. His handling is great for beginners. He has average accelaration, average top speed, good handling and his oone outstanding quality is his cornering. In battle mode his is middle of the road, which is a good place to be. On the very exact same scale of one to ten I give him an 8.

Mario

Again what can I say about him except that he is the exact same as Luigi. The same accelaration, top speed and handling. In battle he is also completely the same. On yes of course, the very same scale as the others I give Mario an 8.

Peach

Peach is one of three light weights. Light-weights are awesome. They have awesome handling, awesome accelaration and awesome top speed. Peach can be really awesome in battle if you know how to use her. She can even sometimes avoid red shells! Light weights may be a little bit better than mediums at battle. It's hard to tell though. The only thing that I can dock Peach for though is that she is easily knocked around by Medium and Heavey weights. On none other than the exact same scale I give Peach a 9.

Toad

Toad is my personal favourite racer. He has awesome acceleration, not the greatest top speed, awesome handling and awesome power sliding. In battle mode he isn't the greatest because he tends to get pushed around a lot. On, you guessed it right on the nosey, the exact same scale I give Toad a 10.

Wario

Wario may be the best character in the game due to his exccellency at every category. His performance in battle mode is excellent as well. And since he is a heavy-weight he isn't pushed around at all. So on the same scale I would give Wario a 10.

Yoshi

Yoshi is another awesome racer as well. Everything is perfect about him except that his steering is a bit tricky for beginners because it is so tight. His performance in battle is excellent except for the fact that he is a light weight and he can be pushed around by heavy weights. So on that wacky crazy scale of one to ten I give Yoshi a mark of 9.
